Celebrity Inspired Bridal Trends

There were many fabulous summer celebrity weddings this past year and brides love to look to the stars for some inspiration. One of the most talked about gowns this year was the stunning St. Pucchi dress worn by NFL star Tony Romo’s wife, Candice Crawford. Crawford’s St. Pucchi ball gown featured a plunging deep-V neckline and a Queen Anne collar. The gown’s floral patterned bodice was wrapped in crystal beading, rhinestones and is accented with ostrich feathers. It is made of pure silk duchess satin and has lace sleeves for a romantic, princess-inspired look. The St. Pucchi gown that Crawford wore is available to order from Mariee. If you love the St. Pucchi gown worn by Crawford but want the look for less, Escalante by Watters is a beautiful alternative. The silk taffeta ball gown also boasts a plunging deep-V neckline and a hand embroidered floral bodice with lace cap sleeves. The full skirt includes pockets and a chapel length train for a bit of drama from behind. Escalante, as well as any gown from the Watter’s collection, is also available at Mariee.

Another fabulous celebrity wedding gown that was loved by many was Nick Lachey’s wife, Vanessa Minnillo’s gown. When Minnillo asked future hubby-to-be what he would like to see her in on their special day, he responded, “Something traditional with a little modern flair.” The bride found just that with her stunning two-piece ball gown which featured an elaborate lace-up corset that was embellished with crystals and rose details. To compliment the corset, Minnillo wore a silk faille, hand tussled skirt, which gave the gown a full-body effect. If you loved the look of Vanessa’s wedding gown, Mariee carries the WTOO bridal line, which has a very similar style in their Spring 2011 collection. The WTOO two-piece ball gown features a sweetheart, crystal and floral embellished corset top, called Primrose. Pair it with the bustled silk taffeta, tulle overlay Poppy skirt, and you can create that same “traditional with a modern flair” bridal look for a very affordable price.

 

 When mentioning new trends inspired by celebrity brides, it is impossible to not mention Kim Kardashian’s fabulous accessories that she wore on her August 20^th wedding this year. To complement her glamorous teardrop diamond earrings, she wore a Lorraine Schwartz 65-carat drop diamond head wrap, which gave the bride a very regal look. The head wrap has caused a buzz and is the new hottest bridal trend out there. This week at Mariee Gallery we are very excited to be hosting a trunk show by one of the world’s leading couture bridal designers – Ian Stuart.

Ian Stuart is a renowned couture bridal designer who has won UK Bridal Designer of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010 in addition to multiple other awards. His craftsmanship and attention to detail are superb and his theatrical vision for bridal is created into stunning masterpieces.
